How to prepare Tea
Infusion: steep leaves or flowers in water to extract the plant’s active ingredients. Can be done in hot or cold water, but hot is most efficient.
Place one tsp of herbs in the tea strainer
Add 8 oz of boiled water over herbs steep for 10 minutes
Decoction: boils or simmers the plant part to extract the plant’s active ingredients. This method is best suited to the harder parts of a plant namely the bark, roots, or berries.
Add the herbs to the water and reduce the heat so that the water is simmering.
Leave the herbs to simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes.
Strain out the herbs.
